The original contract had been awarded for the sum of US$110,812.00 (JA$9,964,082.00), an amount which fell just below the value threshold of JA$10,000,000 at which the NCC’s endorsement would have been required. The procurement was initially approved by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM)/Cabinet Office (CO) Local Government Procurement Committee. The NCC noted, in its letter of July 15, 2011, addressed to the Cabinet Secretary, that the Net Variation of US$208,638.00 now represents a 188% addition to the original contract sum of US$110,812.00, thus bringing the total contract sum to US$319,450.00.
